Adventure Education

This year, we have introduced a new program to our school called Adventure Education.  Middle school students will take an Adventure Ed. humanities course once per year.  Every grade 6-12 went on a specific Adventure Ed. trip: whitewater rafting, hiking, ropes course, or rock climbing.

"This trip has open my eyes to bigger and better things. I usually hate nature but this trip was a lot of fun.”

“This trip displays our school’s mission statement when it says, ‘impels and supports students to use their minds well, to care for themselves and others.’ This is shown because I helped my classmates by staying calm even when I was nervous and took instruction from others as well.”

“This trip made me like the school a little more because it shows that it is a family. It also made me a little more adventurous. In the mission statement it says, ‘impels and supports students to use their minds well.’ Renaissance has encouraged me to put my mind to full use and open up to new people which I probably wouldn’t have done if not for this trip.”

“This trip made me think that Renaissance has opened a lot of opportunities to go out and have fun.”

“This trip makes me feel like I need to try things out there even if it’s not in my comfort zone.”

“This trip made me think about myself as a person and how I enter a situation. The attitude and mindset I have can have a great impact on whether I succeed or not. I learned that I have to enter new situations with a positive attitude.”
